Police in Southern Russia have opened an animal cruelty investigation after a donkey was attached to a parasail last weekend and forced to glide over a bay as part of a beach promotion. The news agency Russia Today reports the harnessed flying donkey brayed in fear as it sailed over the heads of beachgoers while attached to a parachute. It landed in the water after a half-hour ride, but survived. The report says organizers of the stunt face up to two years in prison if they're convicted of animal cruelty.
Daughtry just released the video to their next single "September". What do you think. Send us an email to TheBigShow@neuhoffmedia.com.

Bret Michaels is a pretty popular guy right now, and it looks as though he may be able to parlay that popularity into the most coveted gig in television - - replacing Simon Cowell on American Idol. Bret wants the job and tells Parade Magazine"I don't know. We have a meeting in L.A. in a couple of weeks and we're going to sit down and talk." He added, "they did a poll and I think it was Madonna, P. Diddy, Howard Stern and myself, and I took 50% or 60% of the vote and that's tremendous." He finished by saying, "I would love to be a judge on American Idol. I think I would bring a lot to the table."
When asked why he should get the job, Brett tells Parade that Simon Cowell himself said he would be a great judge. He says, "What he sees in me is the fact that I have lived this career from the basement up. I've played pool halls with four people in them and I've managed to be one of the few non-casualties, financially, in the music business." Michaels also says that he would bring "a true grit, back to the show."
Lady Gaga made a surprise phone call to Greyson Michael Chance, the 12-year-old Internet sensation who's been making waves after his cover of "Paparazzi" hit the web. He was on The Ellen Degeneres Show May 13th when the pop star called in.
Gaga told him, "Greyson, you're so sweet and so talented, and I was so excited that you covered 'Paparazzi.' Everyone loves you so much. Just keep following your dreams and work really hard, and stay away from girls and be focused."
Here is the video that started the sensation.
Here is where Greyson got to perform the song during an appearance on the "Ellen Degeneres Show," during which he got to talk to Lady Gaga on the phone.
D102's Sports Director, Andrew Harby, was recently announced as the winner of a $7,500 scholarship from the International Broadcaster's Idea Bank and SESAC. Tommy B and Kerry West were talking about each of them going to see a Cardinals game, and found out that they were going to be at the same game on April 28th. So they couldn't resist getting their picture together beyond the left field wall.
Taylor Swift granted the wish of Auburn University students Michael Wekall and Ryan Leander and gave them their well-deserved hugs during a surprise visit to the school's campus in Alabama on Monday (April 26th). Michael and Ryan began their quest back in January by way of a website called A Hug From Taylor Swift, where they posted videos and messages to the singer to accomplish their goal. Taylor responded by issuing a series of challenges, including helping little old ladies cross the street and other good deeds which she insisted be videotaped and posted online for everyone, including her, to see.
On Monday, Michael and Ryan gathered a group of students in a conference room for a special karaoke session of Taylor's songs. They had just finished a "You Belong With Me" sing-along, when a video of Taylor interrupted the performance. A minute later, Taylor emerged from a side door and took the stage wearing a "Hug from Mike and Ryan" shirt and giving both hugs and kisses on the cheek.
I got to go backstage with Daughtry on Sunday night for the "VIP Experience". Got to watch the last two songs of their sound check, and then went off for a photo-op with the band. The first pic is from their sound check for the Champaign show at Assembly Hall.
This pic has Tommy B with his wife, Karen enjoying the VIP Experience.

Nancy Roth of St. Joesph, IL was our guest on The Big Show on Monday, March 29th. She was one of 100 finalists in the 44th annual Pillsbury Bake-Off that was held April 12th in Orlando, FL. She brought in her recipe for "Raspberry-Chipotle Brownies with Chocolate Ganache",which is what got her qualified for the contest. Good Luck Nancy! (l-r. Andrew Harby, Nancy Roth, Kerry West, Tommy B.)
On a recent episode of "Dancing With The Stars", Bruno talked about how seeing Kate Gosselin's dance reminded him of dancing with Elton John in the French Riviera. Yep, Bruno appeared in Elton John’s video “I’m Still Standing” and he wears very revealing clothes or lack of clothes for that matter. I think the pictures speak for themselves. LOL! I bet this is Bruno’s most embarASSing moment for sure. His dancing is really good but I can’t get past his black leotard and his “package”. Click here for more pics and the video.

Contemporary Jazz artist David Wells stopped by the D102 Studio to be on Tommy B's Big Show and talk about his "Chocolate Jazz" program that came to the Danville High School Auditorium on Saturday, February 20th. The program was filled with chocolate and jazz, and it helped raise money for the music programs at Danville High School. Tommy B Celebrates 20 years on D102!
January 29, 1990 ... it was my first day on the radio, and it happened on D102. Here are some pictures from the last 20 years that show the changes from then to now, and some of the people that I was fortunate enough to meet through the years.
In 1989, I was working as a Saturday night DJ at the downtown night club "Yesterday's." The DJ booth was actually where the dashboard should have been on the '57 Cadillac. It was in July of 1989 when D102 came to do a live broadcast, and that's when the folks at D102 first saw me. Just a few months later, I was working as a DJ on D102.
This is one of the first pictures taken of me in the D102 studio. It's 12:30 in the morning in February 1990. Back then, we controlled everything. Every time a song played, a commercial played, or a jingle played, I had to push a button. A lot to learn for a rookie at the time. Things sure have changed a lot since then, but I look back on those days as some of the most fun that I have had at D102. (Thanks to Ken Johanson of Colorado for the pic).
In 1991, the Commercial News published an article about Danville radio, and I was the one who happened to be in the studio when their photographer took the picture for the article.
In October of 1991, I was "Buried Alive" to raise money for Cancer Research. For 48 hours, I was "buried" in a 6-foot box with no food, no water and no bathroom facilities. And yes, I made it.
I dressed up as a Radio Station for Halloween in 1990. This was one of the early silly moments in my time at D102. Many many more were to follow over the years.
Many, many, many more. And yes...they're still happening.
I got my first of 4 hot air balloon rides during the 1992 Balloon Classic Illinois. The pilot was one of the best female balloon pilots in the country, Becky Petren, and I rode in the True Value balloon over Lake Vermilion during the "Splash & Dash" event.
In the Summer of 1992, D102 hosted the "Corvette Summer" at Ellsworth Park in Danville. Part of the event was that Bunjee Jumping was available for the first time in the area. That's me dangling from the bungee cord. Whoo-Hoo!
Here I am in my 'long-hair phase' at the 1994 D102 Bridal Show at the Palmer Arena.
They let me climb the Rock Wall at the 1994 Balloon Classic Illinois.
I'm not sure what year this was, but they put me in a jail made out of Coca-Cola 12-packs at the Towne Center County Market, and I had to stay there until we sold all of them. It took about 9 hours, but I finally got out.
Here I am in the D102 studio sometime in 1994.
I got to interview talk show host Gordon Elliott in the mid-90's.
One of my most memorable moments was when I got to do a phone interview with Jeff Foxworthy leading up to his Danville show at the Palmer Arena, and then I was able to meet him backstage on the night of the show. The funny thing about this night was when I realized that Jeff and I were wearing the same sweater. (l-r, Tommy B, Jeff Foxworthy, my wife Karen)
"Thank you to everyone who I got to know and work with here at D102 over the last 20 years. It's been a great ride, and I look forward to the challenges ahead. Thank you again for letting me be a part of your lives each day."
