Some large white rectangles have been placed on some buildings in Downtown Danville in anticipation of the ‘Walldogs’. The Walldogs are over 160 artists from across the U.S. and some foreign countries who are going to be painting large murals on those rectangles.
Some ‘Walldogs’ are already here, and Mayor Scott Eisenhauer is looking forward to an exciting week next week….
Each of the 15 murals will reflect on the history of the Danville area. The ‘Walldogs’ pay their own expenses to come to Danville to share their talents and passion for their craft.
Mayor Eisenhauer adds they are still looking for some local volunteers to help-out when the 'Walldogs' are here next week. He explained what the volunteers will be doing….
If you would like to be a ‘Walldog’ volunteer, the Mayor says you should call Alisha Pettigrew at (217) 274-0263 (after 9 a.m.)
(Pictures show a Danville prescription shop and a furniture store in the downtown area where large white rectangles will be transformed next week into historical murals. There are 15 murals that will be painted starting on Thursday, August 5th.
On Wednesday night - August 4th, the mural images will be projected onto the walls
to be outlined, so painting can begin the following morning.)
