TIFFANY HADDISH TO PRODUCE AND STAR IN MYSTERY GIRL: Tiffany Haddish has signed on to star in and produce Mystery Girl for Netflix. The film is a feature adaptation of the Dark Horse comic; she will play Trine, a woman living off the grid in L.A. with no memory of who she is.
HAILEY BIEBER LAUNCHING YOUTUBE CHANNEL: Model Hailey Bieber is partnering with Michael D. Ratner‘s OBB Pictures, behind Demi Lovato‘s Demi Lovato: Dancing with the Devil, on a YouTube channel. Bieber will showcase short-form videos that discuss lifestyle, beauty and social causes. The first three videos of dropped Friday and will continue to be released bi-weekly on Wednesday, starting March 17.
AD-SUPPORTED HBO MAX SET: An ad-supported version of HBO Max has $80 million in upfront ad commitments, WarnerMedia CEO Jason Kilar said. The offering will launch in June. No word yet on pricing.
I MAY DESTROY YOU WINS BIG AT BPGA: Michaela Coel‘s BBC/HBO series I May Destroy You won big at the UK’s Broadcasting Press Guild Awards on Friday. Coel also snagged Best Actress and Best Writer. Coel said: “Receiving this from the Broadcasting Press Guild is particularly meaningful to me, because this is awarded by journalists, the best of which scrutinize the topic, their opinion of it, and interrogate both the world and themselves, as writers within it. I can identify with this, particularly because I May Destroy You was inspired by my own experiences of sexual assault.”
