Volunteers are continuing to work on getting the Georgetown Fairgrounds in shape for next week’s fair. Don Hackler, President of the Georgetown Fair Board, was among those working inside a new barn on Sunday. He explained what they were doing…

Hackler says it’s nice to have the fair back after it was cancelled last year because of the pandemic. He says people who attend the fair this year will notice some improvements – including two new barns where animals are displayed….
{‘’We had three barns here at one time, and we demolished them over the past two years, and replaced them with two larger buildings and a space in between. So now we’re re-connecting everything and hopefully have it up and ready to go next weekend.’’}

Although the fair does not officially open until Saturday (August 7th), you can purchase ride bracelets and grandstand tickets in advance…
{‘’Armband early sales are still going on. You can go on our website www.georgetownfair.org or our Facebook page – Georgetown Fair Association. And there’s all kinds of access to grandstand tickets, to the early ride bracelets, and the carnival will open a week from Tuesday. So we’re looking forward to it. It’s been a long-time coming, and we hope we can get off to a good start.’’}
This year’s Georgetown Fair is dedicated to ‘all healthcare professionals that have displayed courageous, selfless, and genuine care to those who needed it most during the COVID-19 crisis.’
