We have lost a total of 185 Vermilion County residents to COVID-related deaths since this pandemic began.
There are currently 29 Vermilion County residents with COVID hospitalized. There are currently 254 active COVID cases in the county.
We are aware of nine Vermilion County residents who have become reinfected with COVID since June 1.
Of the 84 cases being reported today, nine of them told us they have been fully vaccinated. As part of the interview process, our contact tracers ask each person who tested positive whether they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Of the 29 county residents currently hospitalized with COVID, three of them are fully vaccinated.
Vaccinations save lives.
Due to Vermilion County’s HIGH transmission status, it is recommended that everyone, despite vaccination, should wear a mask when indoors.
Cases per Zip Code (March 2020-present)
- Green Percentages means that they did not have any new cases since last report
- Red Percentages means that they increased with new cases since last report
We are encouraging our community to get vaccinated, to get tested, to stay home when they are sick, and to wear face masks.
SHIELD Illinois saliva COVID testing will be at the Health Department every Wednesday.

Here is a breakdown of all the places er are aware of that does testing. Testing availability may change. Please call the testing location to see if you can get tested as we are not always made aware of any changes.
If you are having to get tested weekly due to not being vaccinated and are having difficulty getting tested, my recommendation is to get vaccinated.
