THE FOLLOWING IS AN INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION RELEASE
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces State Road 234 will close on or after Tuesday, July 5 for bridge replacement work over Little Raccoon Creek. This closure is between County Road 950 E. and S. 825 E., near Ladoga. It’s expected to reopen in late September. The official detour follows U.S. 231 to S.R. 236 to S.R. 75 and back to S.R. 234.
This project was awarded to Force Construction Co., Inc. for $2.2 million. This project also includes bridge replacement work on S.R. 234 over Sugar Creek, located north of Shades State Park. That section of road is expected to reopen in late July.

On July 1, 2020, Governor Eric J. Holcomb signed the Indiana Hands-Free Law to reduce distracted driving across the state. Since then, drivers have been prohibited from holding a mobile device while their vehicles are in motion.
