THE FOLLOWING IS A DANVILLE FIRE DEPARTMENT RELEASE
Description of Structure/Property: 1-story, wooden framed residential structure (occupied)
Location/Address: 210 S. State Street
Description of Incident:
The Fire Department was notified of a possible house on fire at approx. 11:02 PM on Sunday, February 25. Firefighters arrived on scene at 11:09 PM and found a large fire on the front porch area. Firefighters immediately extinguished the fire on the front porch and moved into the home to extinguish the fire inside the structure. A search of the home was performed, and no victims were found. The occupants of the structure were not home at the time of the fire. Firefighters remained on scene to extinguish any remaining fires in the home and to conduct a fire cause investigation.
Ameren assisted firefighters by securing the electric and gas service.
Aqua Illinois was brought to the scene to shut off the water service to the home.
Firefighters remained on scene until 01:28 AM.
Fire Cause: The Danville Fire Department is investigating the cause of the fire.
The cause of the fire remains undetermined.
Injuries: No injuries were reported.
Smoke Alarm Status: Smoke Detector(s): No working detectors present.
Estimated Dollar Loss: $19,500.00
