DANVILLE — The father of murdered teen Aniyah Davis wants to “wake up the community” and see that justice is done for his daughter and others who have succumbed to gun violence.
Phil Davis is among those expected to speak at a “Justice for Aniyah Davis!” community rally scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday at downtown Danville’s Temple Plaza.
Davis said the event came about after conversations with other community members hoping to put an end to tragic stories like his daughter’s.
“Some people realize that it’s bigger than Aniyah,” he said, adding that it’s on the entire community to work together.
“Too many unsolved murders are going on,” he said.
Phil Davis said that while Danville police are convinced violence is down, the community doesn’t feel safe. He said local officials need to “fix the problem.”
