A Bismarck man became the winner of a brand-new car on Thursday night. Harold Heffern got the key that lit up the new Honda vehicle that earned him a new 2018 Honda CRV.
Harold and 5 other finalists were chosen from among everyone who chose to pledge $2 or more in a weekly payroll deduction to the 2017/2018 United Way of the Danville Area campaign. In partnership with Carmack Car Capital & Meijer, each of six qualifiers became a finalist to select a key that could light up the car to win.
After the contest, Gary Knight, the owner of Carmack Car Capital said “I am glad that I could partner with the United Way, it’s been very exciting and I can’t wait til next year.”
Now that this incentive program is over, Sheri Askren, the director of the United Way of the Danville Area said, “We never stop taking donations, and your community needs you. I appreciate Harold and all the other donors, so that’s a great thing.” To which Harold Heffern replied “I have been (a donor) for several years.”
