The Eastern Illinois Food Bank and John P. Cadle Foundation are joining forces to help feed some area families. The Food Bank has announced a truckload of food will be distributed at the Georgetown Township Building on March 18th. The building is located at 1805 North Main Street in Georgetown.
The distribution is part of the Foodbank’s Foodmobile Program, a system of mobile food pantries designed to help deliver nutritious food to areas of chronic or extreme need. All Vermilion County residents who meet income eligibility guidelines are invited to participate in the program.
An individual household can receive up to $1,832 a month and still qualify for the food at no cost. A two-person household can receive up to $2,470 a month….a three-person household up to $3,108 a month….and a four-person household up to $3,746. Larger households can receive even more and still qualify for the program. To be eligible, a household must have an income at or below 185% of the federal poverty level.
