Members of a Danville family escaped their burning home Saturday night. But their house at 906 Southmoor in the Holiday Hills area was gutted by flames.
Danville Firefighters say they found heavy fire coming from the rear of the home when they arrived on the scene shortly before midnight. A father and four children – ages four, five, nine and eleven – were able to escape the home without injuries. And Danville Fire officials say there were no injuries to firefighters who were on the scene for two-and-a-half hours.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but the home is considered a total loss.
