State of Illinois employees should know by the end of the week whether they have voted to authorize a strike. AFSCME is the state’s largest public employee union and says members finished voting on the strike authorization over this past weekend.
AFSCME represents nearly 38-thousand public employees who work for the State of Illinois…including many here in Vermilion County. The union’s old contract expired over a year ago, but employees have remained on the job.
