Vermilion County Coroner Jane McFadden has released the identity of a person killed Wednesday (February 22nd) in a crash along Interstate 74 near Tilton. The Coroner says the victim is 29-year-old David A. Miller of Dundee, Ohio.
Illinois State Police say the deceased was a passenger in a minivan that crashed in dense fog….setting off a ten vehicle pileup. There were six other occupants in the van when it entered the median, then struck a bridge support and overturned.
Coroner McFadden says her office and Illinois State Police are continuing to investigate the crash. There were nine people who sought treatment at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center for injuries received in the accident. Preliminary information from State Police indicated five of the drivers involved were from our area. Two of them – 25-year-old Holly Miller of Danville and 28-year-old Corey Smith of Champaign – were among those who sought treatment at the Danville hospital.
