As work continues to restore the historic Lorraine Theatre in Hoopeston, the first live stage event is being held this evening (February 24th). The Save the Lorraine Foundation says work has progressed enough to allow tonight’s live event. Jani Massey & Band will be performing while Craig Massey – Jani’s father – will paint a historical portrait which will be given away at the end of the performance.
Tickets for tonight’s (Friday’s) performance will still be available at the door until sold out. Tickets are $15 each.
The Save the Lorraine Foundation says it is extremely pleased with the way the renovation is progressing. Carol Hicks, who works with the group, says ‘’fantastic volunteers and area businesses have put their hearts and souls into saving our 96-year-old Lorraine Theatre.’’
