Although our forecast is calling for a wet week, weather conditions are expected to cooperate for Tuesday’s election. The forecast is calling for a cloudy day Tuesday, with highs around 60 degrees.
Despite the weather, voter turn-out is expected to be low in many parts of Vermilion County. In Danville, Board of Election Commission Executive Director Will Nesbitt has predicted an overall voter turnout of ten to fifteen percent.
The polls open at 6 o’clock Tuesday morning (April 4th, 2017) and will remain open until 7:00 p.m. Voters will be filling school board seats – including some on the Danville Area Community College Board, township and municipal seats and – in the Rossville-Alvin and Bismarck-Henning School Districts – voters decide Tuesday whether to have a cooperative high school.
