It was a good day for many of the incumbents in Tuesday’s election. Both Westville Mayor Mike Weese and Georgetown Mayor Darin Readnour were able to retain their positions. Weese won by only 15 votes over Darren VanDuyn, according to final unofficial figures. In the race for village board seats in Westville the winners are Mark Dunham, Jeff Ellis, Don Hall and Dena Jenkins.
Georgetown’s Mayor Darin Readnour handily won a four-way battle.
In other returns, in the two contested races for seats on the Danville City Council both were won by incumbents. Aldermen R. J. Davis and Steve Nichols were victorious.
Voters in the Bismarck-Henning and Rossville-Alvin School Districts strongly supported the plans for a cooperative high school. Nearly 79-percent of voters in the Bismarck-Henning School District and 74-percent of voters in the Rossville-Alvin School District voted in favor of the cooperative high school.
In the Kickapoo Fire Protection District 72-percent of voters backed a $400-thousand dollar bond issue.
Winners in a five-way race for four seats on the Danville District 118 School Board were current board members Darlene Halloran, Lon Henderson, and Randal Ashton. Shannon Bireline Schroeder will be a new-comer joining the board.
David Harby, Terry Hill and John Spezia won seats on the Danville Area Community College Board running unopposed.
