The Illinois Department of Public Health has cited two area nursing homes for violations of the state’s Nursing Home Care Act. Gardenview Manor Nursing Home, located along the Catlin-Tilton Road, was given a ‘’AA’’ violation and fined $50-thousand dollars in January for failure to assess a residents’ risk for falls and implement interventions. Public Health officials say that resulted in a serious fall resulting with the resident’s death.
Danville Care Center was cited with a ‘’AA” violation and fined $50-thousand dollars for failure to honor a resident’s Advanced Directive and provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation with the resident was found unresponsive. The facility has requested a hearing to appeal the violation which allegedly occurred in March.
The two local nursing homes are among twenty-eight nursing home violations that were issued by the Illinois Department of Public Health during the first three months of 2017. A “AA” violation is issued when there is a condition or occurrence at the facility that proximately caused a resident’s death.
