Area residents will notice some improvements at some Danville parks this summer. City of Danville Public Works crews have been busy this spring working on projects at both Garfield and Douglas Parks.
At Garfield Park there are two new basketball courts. And at Douglas Park crews were busy Tuesday pouring concrete for a new sidewalk leading up to the park’s historic pavilion. Other improvements being made at Douglas include some new playground equipment, benches and landscaping.
The city is saving money by having Public Works employees do the work during their regular hours. The work at both parks is expected to be done in time for summer.
