No one was hurt as flames drove a Danville family from their home late Thursday night. Danville Firefighters found heavy smoke and flames coming from the rear of the home at 512 Center Street when they arrived. Family members had already safely evacuated the residence.
Firefighters were able to quickly knock down the flames, but preliminary damage estimates were placed at $15-thousand dollars. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation but it is not suspicious. It left heavy damage to the kitchen of the home.
Danville Firefighters responded to the call shortly after 11:30 p.m. and were there until 1:00 a.m. Friday.
