The sign-up is underway for volunteers willing to help with this summer’s Balloons Over Vermilion. The event is being held July 14th and 15th at the Vermilion Regional Airport.
Event co-chair Pat O’Shaughnessy says last year the inaugural Balloons Over Vermilion attracted over 20,000 people. ‘’We couldn’t have done that without our league of 500 plus volunteers,’’ says O’Shaughnessy.
There are a variety of shifts and positions that need to be filled for the two days of the event. In order to make it easier, volunteers can sign up online at balloonsoververmilion.com – just click the ‘sign up to volunteer’ button. Clicking there will take you to signup.com where you can find listings of each job available per shift, with brief descriptions and how many people are still needed.
Andrea Calamari is the volunteer coordinator. ‘’The jobs are easy and great for group activities or individuals looking for service credit hours or just a fun way to experience the event,’’ she says. If you have questions about volunteering you can contact Calamari at andreac543@comcast.net.
‘’This is a great way to be a part of the excitement,’’ says Jim Anderson, event co-chair. ‘’We invite everyone to join us in July at Balloons Over Vermilion,’’ he added.
