A life-long Danville man who has shown tremendous support for the community is being inducted into the Illinois Department of Aging Senior Hall of Fame.
Julius W. Hegeler II is being inducted in the Community Service category. Hegeler has contributed millions of dollars to various local projects in areas ranging from education and health care to the arts and the environment.
Mr. Hegeler’s generous donations and dedication to the Danville community have made a significant impact on the lives of many people locally, and it prompted the Illinois General Assembly to recognize him in a House Resolution approved in March of 2014.
It was just recently announced that Hegeler will be donating $3-million dollars for upgrades at the David S. Palmer Arena.
