The U.S. Marshal’s Task Force has arrested a Danville woman wanted in connection with a fatal shooting in April. Danville Public Safety Director Larry Thomason says 38-year-old Lakeisha Cunningham was taken into custody in the Chicago area.
Cunningham is being held in connection with the murder of 25-year-old Justin Jones on April 27th. Jones was fatally shot along the 1600 block of East Fairchild Street in Danville.
The U.S. Marshal’s Task Force had been working with Danville Police detectives on the case. Vermilion County State’s Attorney Jacqueline Lacy had earlier authorized an arrest warrant for Cunningham charging her with first-degree murder.
