The weather turned perfect for flying Thursday evening, and it was just what the Danville Boat Club needed for a highly successful ‘Splash-n-Dash’ event. Almost a dozen hot air balloons took flight in an effort to fly over a target that had been placed in Lake Vermilion. Pilots dropped a rubber duck in an effort to see who could come closest to the target.
Several of the balloons dipped into the water among the dozens of boats that came out to watch the show.
