The dates have been announced for the third annual ‘Balloons Over Vermilion’. Event co-chairs Pat O’Shaughnessy and Jim Anderson says you will want to save the dates…July 13th and 14th, 2018.
Anderson says it was an easy decision of the Steering Committee to bring the event back in 2018. ‘’The last two years have proven that Vermilion County loves the wonder and excitement of hot air balloons, and that so many of our friends and neighbors are willing to come together to support what is becoming our area’s signature event,’’ added Anderson. ‘’After a brief rest our Steering Committee is already making plans for additions to the 2018 event and how to build on the success of the first two years,’’ said Anderson.
‘’It’s a labor of love, and it’s worth all the effort to see the smiles on the faces of kids of all ages,’’ added O’Shaughnessy.
‘Balloons Over Vermilion’ is already seeking sponsors and volunteers for the 2018 event. And organizers say they are grateful to have the support of more than 600 volunteers and many community sponsors, including the title sponsor – the Julius W. Hegeler II Foundation. More information on getting involved as a sponsor or volunteer is available by contacting either Pat O’Shaughnessy or Jim Anderson. The public can also follow Balloons Over Vermilion on Facebook and Twitter throughout the year. (And, of course, we will have updates on the event on VermilionCountyFirst.com.)
