The City of Danville is attempting to make travel easier for visitors to the community. Some new ‘wayfinding’ signs are being installed at several locations around the community.
The Danville Area Transportation Study Group launched the project as a means of helping visitors find some of the more prominent locations around town. One of the first signs, erected along East Main Street, directs motorists to the city’s retail district, downtown Danville, and the David S. Palmer Arena and Convention and Visitor’s Bureau office.
The signs are being made in-house by the City’s Public Works Department. The City earlier received some state and federal grant money to conduct a study for them.
