Some members of a Danville family escaped injury Thursday night when flames struck their home. Danville Firefighters responded to the call at 1122 Dakota Street shortly after 9 o’clock. When they arrived they found flames shooting some twenty-five feet into the air according to Acting Captain Jerry Sparks.
He says the mobile home was occupied when the fire erupted, but everyone got out safely. Sparks says one end of the home was engulfed in flames when firefighters got there.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Although much of the structure was still standing after the fire was doused, it’s considered a total loss.
