Danville Police are investigating a reported double shooting which occurred Monday night (September 4, 2017). Police and other emergency personnel responded to a home at 517 Harvey Street around 8:00 p.m.
Police cordoned off the home with crime scene tape and were talking to people in the area. The Danville Police Crime Scene Unit was also on the scene. Police were making no immediate comment on the incident. And the names of the two who were reportedly shot have not been released. Official information on their condition was also not immediately available.
Nate ‘’BoBo’’ Smalls, a member of the Three Kings of Peace, was among those watching police probe the case on Harvey Street. He said the incident is unfortunate.
‘’It’s something that you would hope would never happen in your hometown…a town as small as Danville. But that’s how it’s done got,’’ added Smalls. ‘’You know drugs and stuff have done took over, and all these other elements that ain’t no good out here on the streets. And this is the results of it right here.’’
And Smalls added if someone has information that can help the police they should step forward.
‘’A lot of times people get tight-lipped. And that’s just the way it is in the streets. Sometimes people can see things and won’t say nothing about it at all.’’
The Three Kings of Peace is a group that has attempted to spread peace in Danville by going into local schools and conducting some peace walks in high crime areas.
Again, the names of the two who were reportedly shot Monday night have not been released. And there was no information available on their condition.
