Students at Danville Area Community College celebrated the start of the fall term today (Thursday) with a party on the quad, even though classes have been underway a while. The Diversity Team’s Annual Cookout included free food, music, games and chance to learn about various DACC departments and clubs.
The games included water balloon volleyball, a big wheel where students could earn prizes from a local bank, and an opportunity to take a swing at some college administrators. Normally that is not a good idea, but these administrators’ photos were placed on an old car and students were given the opportunity to hammer away at the vehicle with sledge hammers. It was one club’s way to raise funds.

Students were also given the chance to get valuable information from representatives of several local agencies, including the Vermilion County Health Department and Vermilion County Rape Crisis Center.
