Although she did not win the title of Miss America, Danville’s Abby Foster was selected to be among the top 15 competitors last night in Atlantic City. The 21-year-old Foster was voted ”America’s Choice” and into the top 15 by votes submitted from across America. The other 14 finalists were selected by the judges.
It was in January of this year that Abby competed in the Miss America Organization preliminaries, where she won the right to Represent Danville and East Central Illinois. In June the Oakwood High School graduate was crowned Miss Illinois.
Foster is a student at Ball State University where she is studying elementary education. The Danville City Council had proclaimed this past week as ‘Abby Foster Week’.
Cara Mund – Miss North Dakota – is the new Miss America.
