Vermilion County Coroner Jane McFadden has released the identity of a man who died when his truck crashed along Bowman Avenue Monday morning. The Coroner says the victim is 57-year-old John W. McCoy, Jr. of Danville.
McCoy was pronounced dead after his truck left Bowman Road, just south of Bismarck Road shortly after 8:30 a.m. Illinois State Police say the truck left the road for some unknown reason and went into a ditch before striking two grain augers and some large rock piles.
McCoy was ejected and was fatally injured as the truck flipped onto its side.
Coroner McFadden says an autopsy was scheduled, and she adds the accident remains under investigation by both her office and Illinois State Police.
