The man who was suspended Wednesday from being the food service director for Danville District 118 schools is now facing criminal charges. Gregory Lazzell has been charged with theft, intimidation and official misconduct. He is free from custody after posting 10-percent of a $100-thousand dollar bond.
The Danville School Board voted unanimously Wednesday evening to suspend Lazzell from his position. The board also scheduled a special meeting for September 20th regarding the possible dismissal of Lazzell. The board hired Lazzell to be the district’s food service director in April of 2011.
