The East Central Illinois Community Action Agency is scheduling appointments – starting Monday (October 2nd, 2017) for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program. The agency is scheduling appointments for senior citizens and those individuals who have a documented disability. The appointments are being taken at the East Central Illinois Community Action Agency office at 56 North Vermilion Street in downtown Danville.
Starting on November 1st the second priority group will be able to start scheduling appointments for energy assistance. That group includes households with children under the age of six, plus households where power has been disconnected.
On December 1st, the program will start taking applications from all other eligible households.
The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (also known as LIHEAP) is scheduled to continue through May 31st, 2018 or until funding is exhausted.
Eligible residents living in Ford or Iroquois counties can call a number in their county to enroll in the program. In Iroquois County the number to call is (815) 265-4685. And in Ford County residents can call (217) 379-2071.
