Plans are advancing for phase one improvements at Westville’s Zamberletti Park. A Zamberletti Park Capital Improvement Commission had earlier discussed possibly securing new restrooms for the park, but instead the commission has decided to renovate the existing ones. Commission Chairman Jeff Slavik says the estimated cost of the renovation of the existing facilities is $45-thousand dollars. So a fund-raising effort is now underway seeking to secure the funds.
The park is heavily used, especially during the youth football and baseball seasons and the Westville Labor Day Celebration. The Commission has also discussed other possible future improvements at Zamberletti Park, including possibly bringing back a stage for performances.
The Commission meets Wednesday evening, October 4th, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at the Westville Municipal Building to continue its discussions. The general public is invited to attend that session. Anyone wishing to donate to the improvement plans can send their contribution to the Westville Village Clerk at 201 North State Street in Westville, Illinois, 61883.
