Vermilion County Sheriff’s Police say an Allerton man was seriously hurt Wednesday (October 4th) when the ATV he was driving crashed into a building. The crash occurred on Chicago Street in Allerton shortly after noon Wednesday.
Deputies say 57-year-old William Singer was found laying face-down in the road when officers arrived. Authorities say he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Sheriff’s Police say it appears Singer was driving south-bound on Chicago Street in Allerton when he lost control. The ATV flipped several times ejecting Singer. He was listed in serious condition at midday today (Thursday) at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.
The investigation into the crash continues as sheriff’s police were attempting to location someone who may have witnessed what happened.
