Although Columbus Day is being observed Monday, October 9th, and most schools and many financial institutions are closed — the Danville Public Works Department residential solid waste collections will be on their normal schedule. Danville Mass Transit busses will also be running their normal routes and times.
City of Danville offices are open Monday, but Vermilion County offices are closed. The offices that are closed include the Vermilion County Courthouse and Courthouse Annex and Vermilion County Health Department.
Danville’s Public Works Department is reminding local residents that the fall leaf collection has begun. Leaf materials may be placed out for pickup in approved paper waste bags and/or toters with the City of Danville yard waste sticker attached. Fall leaf collections will continue through the first part of December, weather permitting.
