Two new construction projects will be affecting traffic in our area this week. The City of Danville Public Works Department says lanes will be closed intermittently and a reduced speed limit will be in effect in a construction zone along Voorhees Street – between Griffin Street and Michigan Avenue.
The lane closures will be modified periodically throughout the project and will affect both east and west-bound traffic on Voorhees Street. The project is scheduled to be completed by November 27th.
In addition, the intersection of James Place and Voorhees Street will be closed due to road repairs at that intersection. The intersection is scheduled to be open for traffic at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, November 2nd.
Motorists are being advised to avoid those areas or use caution while traveling in the work zones.
And the Vermilion County Highway Department says the Catlin Homer Road will be closed to all traffic between 150 E Road and 200 E Road starting today (Monday, October 30, 2017). The road will be closed to allow the pouring of a concrete bridge deck in that area.
On Wednesday, November 1st, the road will open to one lane traffic with signal lights. The public is encouraged to seek other routes and avoid that area during construction.
