An investigation is underway into what caused a blaze that destroyed a large, modern home near Bismarck on Thursday. The fire at the Al Abbed residence was discovered around 4:00 p.m. but firefighters from several departments were still on the scene hours later.
The home is located in the Bismarck Fire Protection District, just off Shake Rag Road. Water had to be trucked to the scene by several area fire departments. Bismarck volunteer firefighters received mutual aid from the Rossville, Lynch, Kickapoo, Westville and Blue Grass fire departments.
