The Wreaths Across America program at the VA National Cemetery in Danville has made national news. An article written by Steve Brooks appears on ‘The American Legion’ – a nationwide American Legion website.
The article notes that the number of wreaths placed on the graves at the cemetery has grown from 184 in 2013 to nearly 6,000 now. ‘’Our mission and our goal is to cover all 12,000 graves,’’ said John Pigg, a past director of American Legion Riders Chapter 210 in Danville. ‘’I think in the next two or three years we’re going to make that happen,’’ added Pigg.
