The Vermilion County Board has ratified a new 3 year contract agreement with Correctional Officers represented by the Fraternal Order of Police. County Board Chairman Mike Marron notes the vote wraps-up the contract talks involving all of the county’s bargaining units.
The agreement for correctional officers includes a 2.25 percent base salary increase each year….retroactive to December 1, 2016. There is also an increase in longevity during the 2nd and 3rd years of the agreement, and some language was also updated.
Chairman Marron notes the contract percent mirrors what was given other county employees — averaging a 3-percent total wage and longevity increase for each year. The formula was applied to all seven labor units in the county.
