Danville Area Community College has announced that ten area school districts are expected to participate in the 40th annual Regional Academic Challenge. The event on Tuesday, January 30th, is being hosted by the DACC Science, Math and Health Professions Division. It will be held in the Mary Miller Center on campus.
The Academic Challenge involves a battery of tests in areas including mathematics, chemistry, physics, biology, English, engineering graphics and computer science. The Academic Challenge was created by the Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering Society.
Winners in the regional competition will advance to sectionals to be held at Eastern Illinois University on March 8th. They could then possibly advance to the state finals which will be at the University of Illinois.
