Danville Police are probing the city’s first homicide of 2018. Public Safety Director Larry Thomason says the victim is an 18-year-old male from Danville who was found slumped over in a vehicle.
Thomason says police were called to the 1000 block of Glenwood at about 8:30 a.m. ‘’Officers arriving at the scene discovered a male inside the vehicle,’’ said Director Thomason. ‘’Further investigation found evidence of a gunshot wound to that person,’’ he added.
The name of the victim has not been released yet by the Vermilion County Coroner’s Office. Director Thomason says the incident is being investigated as a homicide.
There was no information released about the incident until Thursday afternoon as police went about their investigation.
