Vermilion County Sheriff’s Investigators have released more information on a Monday shooting. Chief Investigator Michael Hartshorn says officers received a call around 12:30 a.m. (on January 15, 2018) that a person had been shot on a parking lot in the 2400 block of Georgetown Road.
The victim, a 40-year-old male, was transported to Carle Hospital in Urbana for treatment. Hartshorn says the victim was familiar with the suspect and had arranged to meet him and other individuals on a parking lot prior to the shooting. An argument ensued during the meeting and multiple gunshots were fired.
A 17-year-old male was arrested and charged with aggravated battery with a firearm. No other information is being released because the suspect is a juvenile.
