Danville Police have charged five people with obstructing justice in connection with a Sunday evening shooting investigation. Police Commander Joshua Webb says officers responding to an accident in the 600 block of North Logan Avenue discovered that the driver had been shot. The vehicle had struck a power pole shortly after 6:00 p.m.
Commander Webb says officers were told the 22-year-old driver had been shot in the back in the area of Jackson and Cherry Streets. He was attempting to drive himself to the hospital when the crash occurred. The victim told police that some unknown person had shot at his vehicle in the Jackson and Cherry Street area, and one of the shots hit him in the back. Police say the wound was not life-threatening.
