The City of Danville is considering changes in its ambulance ordinance, including limiting the number of times a call can be turned over to another ambulance service without being penalized. City Attorney Dave Wesner outlined a proposal during a city council committee meeting last evening (Tuesday) to limit the number of turnover calls to ten a month.

Compton added that OSF Healthcare is ”doing a fantastic job” of supporting the ambulance service. OSF takes over the Presence hospitals in Danville and Champaign-Urbana effective February 1st.
Mayor Scott Eisenhauer says there will be plenty of time for discussion of the matter over the next month. Meanwhile, Danville City Alderman Mike O’Kane says each of the services should be required to make sure there is one ambulance in town at all times.
