Tuesday night the Danville City Council Public Works committee recommended and passed on to the full council a plan to annex land and expand the enterprise zone as well as offer property tax abatement for a proposed new assisted living community.
The Villas of Holy Brook and Reflection Memory care plan to open north of Life Church on Bowman Avenue.
Mayor Scott Eisenhauer supports the move:
The investment will also give new work opportunities to the area:
Some, including other assisted living facilities in the region, say adding a new community will cause oversaturation of the market..
The vote on Tuesday night went 3 yes, one no for recommendation, and the matter will be taken up with the full council next week.
