The East Central Illinois Community Action Agency will have as its guest speaker former University of Illinois linebacker Dana Howard on Friday, (March 9th, 2018). The Agency will be hosting its 53rd Annual Dinner and Business Meeting at the Turtle Run Golf and Banquet Center as it honors some local leaders. Turtle Run is located at 322 East Liberty Lane in Danville.
The reception and silent auction begin at 6:00 p.m. with the dinner and program starting at 7:00 p.m.
Howard will be inducted into the National College Football Hall of Fame on December 4th, 2018. He attributes his student and athlete success to his relationship with teachers and coaches who encouraged him to strive for excellence.
The event is open to the public. Tickets are available at $50 per person or $400 per table. Those still needing tickets are being encouraged to get them at the East Central Illinois Community Action Agency Administrative Office. It is located at 56 North Vermilion in downtown Danville.
This year Community Action will be honoring some local leaders in recognition of their exceptional community service and contributions in areas of employment and economic development.
This year the awards are going to:
- Deanna Witzel, of DND Witzel Enterprises;
- Ebun Osaze, Physician Assistant-C and entrepreneur;
- Tricia League, local author, entrepreneur and community leader;
- Debra Cummings of Trillium Staffing Solutions.
Danville Mayor Scott Eisenhauer will serve as Master of Ceremonies for the event.
The East Central Illinois Community Action Agency helps individuals and families in need in Vermilion, Ford and Iroquois counties.
