Danville Mayor Scott Eisenhauer is calling on landlords to be honest with their tenants if they are raising their rent. The Mayor says it is unfortunate some landlords are placing the blame on the city’s hike in the Public Safety Pension fee which was approved earlier…
Mayor Eisenhauer adds landlords do have a right to raise the rent….
‘’It’s sad. It’s disappointing – but it’s business,’’ added the Mayor during Tuesday evening’s meeting as he addressed members of the Danville City Council.
Also during the meeting the Mayor announced the new aggregate electric service rate bidding is taking place today (Wednesday, March 7th, 2018). And the Mayor says there is a possibility the city may consider adding a 1-percent municipal fee if the rate falls enough. He says if the 1-percent fee would have been in place over the last year it would have generated $80-thousand dollars for the city.
Prior to any new electric aggregate price being set for Danville residents Mayor Eisenhauer says there will be a mass mailing to local residents. Residents will then have the opportunity to opt out of the aggregate program if they so choose.
