The Danville Area Community College Ag Club has set Thursday, April 12th as the date for this year’s Ag Day event. The day usually attracts thousands of visitors to the DACC campus…most of them children.
Between 9:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. that day visitors will be able to tour the Danville Area Community College greenhouse and view various farm displays. There will also be a barnyard petting zoo and pedal tractor pulls for children.
A highlight of the day is a barbecue lunch which is served from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. in the Mary Miller Gym. It consists of a pork barbecue sandwich, applesauce, baked beans, potato chips, and milk or Pepsi which is served for 50-cents. The price reflects the amount farmers usually receive for the products in the meal after producing and selling them. Additional donations are accepted.
The meal is served by the DACC Ag Club, DACC students and staff, and local FFA chapters.
Schools that are planning to take classes to the Ag Day activities are asked to call 443-8768 to make reservations.
