A grant from the Attica Community Foundation will help make sure children at Attica Elementary School do not go hungry over the weekends. Dale White, CEO of the Community Foundation, says the $4,000 grant will help provide weekend meals for many children who go home on Friday to empty cabinets.
‘’We appreciate our partnership with the Attica Elementary School and always want to help in as many ways as possible,’’ said White. ‘’For many struggling families these meals are a blessing and help keep children fed in tough times,’’ added White.
‘’Our BackPack Program helps close the gap for many Attica Elementary School children,’’ says Attica Elementary School Principal Dusty Goodwin. And Goodwin adds children who come to school on Monday morning well fed behave and perform better in their classrooms, which helps them and their peers succeed in school.
