Danville Police are holding a suspect who allegedly fired several shots which struck a vehicle as it left a fast-food parking lot Monday. Police Commander Joshua Webb says a man who was in the car suffered a gunshot wound to a leg. The victim told police he was leaving the parking lot at Main and Bowman Streets when he spotted a man on foot shooting at him.
A short time later police arrested 20-year-old Darrell Callahan of Chicago (shown here) as a person of interest in the case, according to Commander Webb. Police say Callahan had a gun in his possession, and during the follow-up investigation police say the victim identified Callahan as the man who was shooting at him.
Callahan was transported to the Public Safety Building where he was booked on preliminary charges of aggravated battery with a firearm, aggravated discharge of a firearm and criminal damage to property.
